Photo Caption:It’s been said that a picture is worth 1,000 words. I’m hoping this one is also worth $15,000. I’m not sure I can add anything in text that isn’t visually obvious. Admittedly, it does appear worse than it should (I know, as if) because of the drywall patches in the ceiling from a previous above floor bathroom reno. Although that DIY job was ‘only’ 16 months ago (IE: As I've tried to explain, "You can’t rush perfection.") my lovely wife has suggested that perhaps it’s time to move onto the kitchen. (I’m paraphrasing here to keep the content family oriented.) And I agree it is time to move onto the kitchen. I know better than not agree. However, the devil is in the details and that is where the disagreements are unavoidable. IE: I say, “What you want won’t fit in that space.” My lovely wife responds, “Make it fit.” I’m thinking outside professional help could alleviate some of those issues. (I know, as if. But hope springs eternal.)
The only thing about the old kitchen that I’ll miss is the ol’ dishwasher. It is at least 30 yrs old, the control knob gone, long since enough of it was left to be glued together again, the wheels on the racks fall off whenever used, outside panels rusted and peeling back, and it only works when shims are forced under the latch to make a ‘start’ connection. But it still works. The personal parallels of getting older and falling apart – yet keep working, are uncanny.
So the kitchen here is ‘a go’, at some point. I’m just hoping for help . . . even emotional support would be greatly appreciated.
