It&#8217;s a fan favorite with one of the most unique guitar solos in rock, but the story behind Coney Hatch&#8217;s &#8220;Monkey Bars&#8221; is pure Canadian rock legend. In this episode of &#8220;Behind The Vinyl,&#8221; Andy Curran reveals the hilarious origin of the song&#8217;s title, born from playing gigs in less-than-glamorous venues in Moncton, New Brunswick. He also shares an incredible story from the studio, where legendary producer Kim Mitchell pushed the band to record the now-famous atonal guitar solo, despite the record label&#8217;s doubts. You don&#8217;t want to miss the true story behind this classic track!</p>

Sarah McLachlan joins us at boom 97.3 to talk about the making of Possession the title track from her breakthrough 1993 album Fumbling Towards Ecstasy. She shares how the song was inspired by the unsettling experience of being stalked, and how she channeled that fear and intensity into the music. Sarah reflects on the writing process, the atmosphere she wanted to capture in the studio, and what the song has meant to her over the years — all while we play it straight from the vinyl.
