A Chat With Corey Hart

Posted By: Stu Jeffries · 6/29/2012 6:08:00 AM

No artist dominated the 80's charts like Corey Hart.

From 'Sunglasses at Night'  to 'I Am By Your Side' to  'Never Surrender', Hart was a staple on Canadian radio and a welcome regular on CBC's 'Good Rockin' Tonite'.

I've always liked Corey and it was wonderful to catch up to him again. In this interview, he talks about his 'new' single with DJ 1Love and the moving story behind the remix as well as being a dad and the feeling of performing live again after a stage absence of more than 10 years.

Click below the picture to hear the interview and a clip of the new single.

Nice to see Corey again. The original is one of my favourites, and this remix is actually pretty good.

Thanks to my friend in Toronto for sending this to me. I have been a Corey Hart fan BIGTIME since his beginning! I already love the song from Corey's FB page. Thanks for sharing the video. The song and video are very touching and give me strength again like Never Surrender always does. I loved the interview. I've been a fan of Stu's since the 80's as well. I have missed you Corey so much. I have a son and totally understand about putting your kids first! <3 you Corey FOREVER! Monica

    Love you, Corey Hart!!

Miss hearing your voice. I was an 80s teenager and I have always loved your music.

My favourite song was Never Surrender because I could relate to the lyrics and the video.

BTW, my father was your and your brother's babysitter in Montreal!!

Wow. I never heard this Corey Hart song before and I must say it's amazing.
I'm a huge fan of Canadian music & Corey was one of the artists from the 80's I really enjoyed listening to. Glad to hear he has a great family and is doing well
I wish him all the best in his music and life.

    Bruce.

Much appreciated Stu. I remember seeing you on old GRT shows back in the '80s - I would trade videotapes with Canadian penpals and lived for the times I'd get a CH special or an interview! Great chat and it's so nice to hear Corey's voice again.

FYI, the new TWSUF video is posted here - original was removed due to an audio sync issue:

Cheers dude! Best wishes from an old Chicago CH fan!

Sorry for audio quality. Made from a tape that was lovingly passed on from fan to fan for 20-odd years :)
