Antiques Roadshow is one of my guilty pleasures. It's my idea of "reality tv". It's fascinating to me because it offers history lessons and insight into some of the weirdest objects. Things that I never knew even existed.

But the best part of the show are the people. To some degree the experts but what I love to see are the different people who, from all walks of life, come in with their treasures and wait to find out something about them. For some, the monetary value ends up being of no consequence, because of the sentimental value these items carry for them. And for some, clearly money is not an issue becuase perhaps they don't care about it or because they have lots of it already. 

Every once in awhile, you see, not only an amazing treasure but also someone who clearly is blown away by the value of it. This gentleman, becomes so emotional, wiping away a tear that I also teared up watching his reaction. He mentions coming from a farming family that never had a lot of money.
