I was lucky enough to attend the premiere of Cirque du Soleil’s AmaLuna last night - fantastic show, just like Totem last year. The details of the story were a little lost on me, but the show is a brilliant study and display of body movement that’s beyond 99% of us. It’s hard to keep your jaw up when faced with such contorting talent. Every performer has to have 2 or 3 outstanding skills: you can’t just be an acrobat, you have to be an aerial acrobat who can sing opera! You can’t just be a world-class juggler, you have to be a world class juggler who’s triple-jointed and can juggle while twisting like a pretzel. You gotta wonder, where do they find these people? I’m guessing they’re secretly breeding them in an underground genetic laboratory. Too farfetched? Watch this video and tell me if you really think these people are like anything you’ve seen in nature:
