Anyone catch the Doritos 3rd Degree Burn promotion last week? 7/11 was giving away free samples to welcome its Canadian return! Unfortunately there’s no 7/11 near me, so I didn’t get to partake in the free abuse.

I think 7/11 will be one of the only places to sell the torturous snack. Why? Well, it was the only place I could buy the damn things when they were here for a limited time last year. Also, 7/11 is an American chain. Canada can’t take the heat, which is why our “Spicy” products are always milder than America’s “Medium”. The jalapenos we buy up here can even be used in place of sweet peppers.

Personally I love hot things, but I understand heat doesn’t sell well up here, and fair enough. To be honest, when I tried them last year 3rd Degree Burn wasn’t much hotter than 2nd Degree, and actually didn’t taste as good. So I may stick with 2nd, but I know lots of heat nuts who want to test the 3rd Degree so I’m hoping to grab a few bags before Doritos takes a beating in sales and removes them from the Canadian market once and for all. Anyone know if anything other than 7/11 sells the wicked chips? Or even where I can find 2nd Degree? ‘Cause I can’t find those anywhere either...
