Walking into Shouldice Hospital with all the other Hernia patients/inmates to the chants of "fresh fish, fresh fish" was a little intimidating, but my experience was a good one. It's funny, every patient talks about the same thing depending on how many days they've been there.
Day 1) How much weight you've lost. The Hospital only admits you if you're a certain weight
Day 2) How your surgery went. For me, I was wide awake. The ceiling was moving. It was pretty trippy.
Day 3) How many clips you've had removed. It looks quite gross, but what a relief when they're all gone.
Day 4) Have you pooped yet. That's all I'll say about that
With all the drugs come some pretty weird dreams. At one point I remember dreaming about playing ping pong with an alligator. Weird! Anyway, I just want to thank all the nurses and doctors. They do a fantastic job. And I must say the food was quite good as well. Now I have to concentrate on holding in sneezes, coughs, and avoid laughing...it hurts like hell.
