A New York-based producer, Blockhead began his hip-hop life on the other side of the mic, but later determined that his ear for beats was better than his raps. Having produced tracks for Aesop Rock, Slug of Atmosphere, Murs, and S.A. Smash, Blockhead made waves with a record of his own, the Mush Records release Broke Beats. He also worked with hip-hop comedy troupe Party Fun Action Committee, and created an instrumental work for Ninja Tune.
