Album Review

Greatest Hits contains five of Paul & Paula's six hits including the massive number one pop and R&B hit "Hey Paula," along with a wealth of album tracks and single sides for a total of 31 tracks. On these duets Paul (Ray Hildebrand) reveals his talent as a songwriter but sounds like Joe Teen Idol, while Paula (Jill Jackson) recalls Connie Francis with her soaring pipes. Paul & Paula's repertoire was heavy on teen ballads, but the pair also recorded a few mild rockers with similarly youth-oriented themes. The duo's hit Christmas single, "Holiday Hootenanny," is omitted, but with great sound and a generous program, this Canadian import is the definitive Paul & Paula CD.
