A 20-song teaser featuring recordings by the Velours and the Pearls. While it does include some of both groups' memorable recordings (i.e., the Velours' "Can I Come Over Tonight" and the Pearls' "Ice Cream Baby"), it doesn't bother with some others that fans and collectors will quickly notice. So the title is misleading -- these aren't their complete recordings. The Pearls' "Shadows of Love" and "Let's You and I Go Steady" are missing in action, as are many of the Velours' -- who reinvented themselves in the '60s and '70s as the Fantastics -- recordings. But taken for what it is and overlooking the grandiose claim, these are archetypal examples of doo wop by New York groups from Detroit.
