Album Review

With his easy rolling New Orleans piano style, his affable personality on-stage, and a voice that approximated sweet summer sugar, Fats Domino racked up dozens of pop hits between 1949 and the early '60s. This two-disc, 32-track set collects most of those, including his signature tunes “Ain’t That a Shame,” “Blueberry Hill,” “I’m Walkin',” “Blue Monday,” and the gorgeous “I’m Walking to New Orleans,” among others, making this a nice and in-depth survey (it runs almost 100 minutes) of a true American treasure.
