The
Bill Cosby edition of Universal's
Icon series does an effective job chronicling the comedian's best routines from his early-'70s recordings for UNI/MCA. The 11 tracks were originally released on the LP's
Inside the Mind of Bill Cosby,
For Adults Only,
Live: Madison Square Garden Center,
Fat Albert, and
When I Was a Kid. While this material may not be in the same league as his bits from the '60s ("Noah"), or the '80s ("Chocolate Cake for Breakfast"), it's still a fun listen with a mid-line price to boot.
