Although trumpeter
Jon Eardley had been active in Europe since moving aboard in 1963, this album (other than two dates for obscure Dutch labels during 1969-70) was
Eardley's first session as a leader since 1956. He contributed six of the seven selections (all but the standard "Namely Me") and shows throughout the date that his cool sound and boppish style were largely unchanged from the early days.
Eardley teams up with altoist
Pete King, pianist
John Taylor, bassist
Ron Mathewson and drummer
Mickey Roker for some fine straightahead music.
