For this rather obscure LP, veteran bassist
Milt Hinton (74 at the time) teams up with four musicians he considered to be up-and-coming young players: pianist
Jay D'Amico, altoist
Sam Furnace, tenor saxophonist
Mike Walters and drummer
Kevin Norton. Although not much has been heard since from
Walters and
Norton,
D'Amico and particularly
Furnace have had professional careers. The music ranges from a few originals, including
Hinton's "Mona's Feeling Lonely," to four standards, such as "Indiana" and
Oscar Pettiford's "Tricotism." Good music with no real surprises.
