Album Review

The Allman Brothers Band were easily the most graceful and fluid of the great Southern rock bands, and at their best, they brought an elegant mix of blues, rock, and improvisational jazz to the table. This best-of set, which features signature Allman Brothers tracks like "Ramblin' Man," "Jessica," "Whipping Post," "Midnight Rider," "Southbound," and a 13-minute live version of "In Memory of Elizabeth Reed," was released as part of Universal's Green Series, in which the packaging is made from 100 percent recyclable materials and uses vegetable-based inks to make everything as environmentally friendly as possible. Is it the best Allman Brothers comp out there? Probably not, but it might be the healthiest.
