Tomorrow, my wife and I celebrate our 23rd wedding anniversary.

A few years after we were first married, my dad's friend, Stan gave me a piece of very important wisdom. He said, "Matt, now that you're married, there are only two words you need to know...and all will go well with you. The two words? Yes Dear."

Well, it's been about 20 years since Stan advised me of those two words and only now have I finally got it right!!

Here are some examples of using the response, "Yes, Dear":

--"Honey, don't forget to put out the garbage."....Yes dear.

--"Stop ordering movies and video games from Amazon, we're on a budget."....Yes dear.

--"Sweetheart, my mother is coming over and she's staying for 3 weeks."...Yes dear.

--"Not now, I'm too tired."....Yes dear.

--"I need some new clothes; I want to spend the whole afternoon at the mall. Will you come with me?"...Yes dear.

...and finally: "Honey, do you think I look too fat in this dress?".....Yes dear.......
